Special collections is apart of the UWG library where they hold historic materials and books. You can find there old letters, books, photographs, newspaper articles and other artifacts that can help out with your research. Special collections can be found down stairs in the Ingram library. Special collections is a primary source that can help you find tons of information. You can use special collections for your research to help show previous accounts of what happened to something similar to your subject and relate it to yours. You also can use special collection as information on a specific date in history or if you want to know how people use to dress or act in a specific time period you could use the materials from special collections to help you. It can also answer questions like, how were these people treated?

Special Collections can give you a lot of information about historical events and the people who may have witnessed them. I thought it was interesting when the speaker explained that they have letters in special collections downstairs at the Ingram Library which is documented correspondence which could possibly convey, as you stated, how others were treated among many other things.
