HW- On the media

In the segment "Our Privacy Delusions" things that stood out to me is that when facebook allowed the users an actual chance to vote how the website is governed, only 1% of the people actually engaged in it. Also that   emails that haven't been read yet don't actually go away when you delete them. People should know about this because people should care how facebook is ran and know that some of you messages might not get deleted.

In the segment "How to sort good information from bad on twitter" things that stood out to me was that even though some of the information on twitter might look good some of them are unreliable. If they do seem unreliable just don't follow them and find another who is credible.

In the segment "New Social Source" Tom Scott talked about how you can type certain things that someone has liked or where they have been and find the people who has done it. It should make people realize that some can see what you liked or post at a time in life you didn't too much about it and then have it show up years later when someone is searching for you.

In the segment "Facebook V. Europe" The Max Schrems part really surprised me getting a pile of papers of things he did on facebook and finding out somethings he posted on facebook never actually got deleted. I'm happy to know that people like Max is trying to protect our privacy. Its good to know this so people know that people like Max are out there trying to protect our privacy.

In the segment "That little thing called like" Showed that the like button is not just used to like something  but it is used to let brands advertised and send you information on what the brand is doing. This feature could be good or extremely annoying with the brand sending you information of them all the time.

Facebook V. Europe and Our Privacy Delusion are very alike to me. Both of these had a strong talks about the privacy issue in social. They both explain to you how your information is being put out there so easily and how you can make your page more private.

  1. I agree that on the second segment that the things that look reliable on twitter are not always good information. Also, I agree that Facebook vs. Europe and Our Privacy Delusion are somewhat alike and that they both deal with privacy.
